“My son and I went to Auto Republic this last Friday and I wish I had read the reviews ahead of time, that would have saved us a ton of time. The salesman, Junior was great and showed us cars that were in our price range and mentioned on a test drive that an auto-theft tracking device was included on every car sold there, and my son and I thought that was great, however when it came time to crunch numbers the $16,000 car became a $21,000 car. They tack on $2,000 worth of anti theft and car door protection extras that are not negotiable. When we were ready to walk out he went and got his manager who did nothing to bring the price down. An Absolute WASTE of TIME!!! BUYER BEWARE!
We ended up buying from a Toyota Dealer that had no hidden fees, just Tax and License, like any other reputable dealer.”

“Bought a 2019 Subaru and after I drove it off at night I noticed the inside roof lights didn’t turned on. Took it back and they fixed it. 2 weeks later my batteries died. I spoke to the manager and he told me he couldn’t do anything bc it’s “wear and tear”. The mechanic should’ve noticed the battery issue when fixing the light issue initially. Spent 30k on this vehicle and they couldn’t even help replace the battery less than a month of having the vehicle. I really liked Isaac who sold me the car but the battery issue and the manager not calling me back when he said he would is poor service.”

“Where do I start? I would give this place zero stars if it was an Option.I went in to test drive a vehicle that was valued at $17,990. The sales person Rigo is the first person who reached out to me when I inquired online sent me a link to the vehicle and Confirmed the cost. A few days later, I show up to do a test drive and Rigo was not available so Another sales consultant took me on the test drive. I did like the vehicle despite some wear and tear on the Body. I felt comfortable that I was going to make a purchase then the sales consultant let me know that there are additional add on Items I need to be aware of as they are not included on the listed Internet price.
Apparently, there is a disclaimer about add-on items they do to every vehicle on their lot from what the sales person told me so why not put it on the overall price?
When Rigo called me a couple days later, which was about five minutes ago and I questioned Him about the bait and switch tactic. He then began to attack me and had the nerve to ask me if I wanted to buy the vehicle he would pass me to a manager.
I can’t believe the level of customer service I received. It was actually embarrassing for a company to allow sales staff to talk to customers that way. I will never buy a vehicle here or recommend this place to anyone.”

“This place must do great business because it apparently doesn't need every sale that walks on the lot. Me and my daughter drove an hour and a half to see a specific car, on a weekend and with heavy traffic. The first thing Cristopher the sales guy does is walk up to us and look at this god-awful massive watch covered in fake diamonds and tells us, "wow, you came to see a car 20 minutes before we close huh". He was smug and condescending but I didn't drive 3 hours round trip to just walk away so we took the car for a quick test drive. We had already been shamed for getting there late so that turned me off from really getting the full experience of the test drive. So we left and I just waited and looked at other vehicles elsewhere. I called back a few days later to talk to the sales manager, however i was tolf he was in a meeting and would call me back. The call never came. It took Christopher a week to call me back to follow up. By then, I was done dealing with him. However, when I asked to speak to a sales manager, he told me he was out of the office and he could take care of me, when I insisted I wanted to talk to the sales manager, he began to talk over me multiple times and insist that he can help me and was adamant that he make the sale today. After 3 or 4 attempts to leave a message for the sales manager he finally relented and passed me over to the finance manager who put me on speaker phone most likely with Christopher sitting in. I again had to ask 3 times to leave my phone number for the sales manager to call me back when he returned. Finally he agreed then hung up on me without taking my number. So, my advice if you shop here is steer clear of Christopher and check the reviews for a better sales guy.. or hell, just go somewhere else where the employees treat you like human a being and not like an idiot.”

“Yesterday evening I had the pleasure of speaking with Chris about a 2011 Honda CR-Z in excellent condition. The test drive went really well and the vehicle was beautiful! Unfortunately, I cannot recommend buying from this dealer, though.
Chris was personable and enthusiastic, and he shot straight with me, which I really appreciate. He wasn't very knowledgeable about the CR-Z, but that's understandable because it's something of an oddity as a manual-transmission hybrid. After the test drive, the paperwork went smoothly and they promised they would have no need of running credit as they're a FastTrak Dealer with SchoolsFirst FCU, whom I bank with.
However, the fees and non-negotiables that Auto Republic tacks on to their listing prices are significant and unavoidable. The government sales tax was not included in the online listed price. What I refer to as 'administrative' fees that the dealer assesses and directly profits from are hundreds of dollars. At current, Auto Republic charges nearly $1,000 for an unremovable phone app which, among other things, tracks the car. They also charge $400 to clear-coat certain high-use parts of the vehicle, such as door handles. This is non-negotiable as well.
What was listed online at $8,991 was instead quoted to me as $11,687 out the door, just under $2,700 more than I expected. If you as a buyer are willing to pay this, then more power to you. I will not be returning to Auto Republic.
Owner Response Edit:
Briefly after the owner response to this review, I received a phone call from Chris attempting to guilt me into taking it down in spite of (or more likely, because of) its accuracy. I assured Chris I was happy with the review in its state. Shortly afterwards, I opted to give Auto Republic a second chance and set up a return visit today, 11/23/24. I thought I might offer the listing price of $8991 in cash, as that was in excess of $2000 more than KBB fair market value.
I was directed to the David the Manager, who had an odd intensity about him. He was also direct, which I appreciated, but there was no 'red carpet.' David advised that the dealership had overpaid for the vehicle six months prior, to the tune of $12,000. To recoup their losses, Auto Republic could not sell any lower than the previously-quoted price, $11,687. Unfortunate.
Discerning buyers will also note that Lo-Jack is a simple add-on simply removed, and of arguable value. Auto Republic will refuse to do so on the principle that doing so will save the buyer $995.
I suggest avoiding Auto Republic entirely. Head to a more reputable dealership.”
