Two major and two minor defects in less than 400m

Love the style, handling, etc. Owned it less than 9 days. Front and rear "inverters" failed, coolant leak, and went into "zombie" mode. Look it up. Additionally the electronic parking brake would not release so it couldn't be towed/pushed/rolled. KIA CUSTOMER "CARE" IS ALL ABOUT BREAKING YOU DOWN UNTIL YOU GIVE UP. ABSOLUTE TRASH. ONCE YOUR CASE GETS "ELEVATED" BE PREPARED TO DEAL WITH EVEN MORE AGGRESSSIVE ATTEMPTS TO BEAT YOU DOWN. IN SUM, IF IT WORKS GREAT, GOOD FOR YOU, IF NOT, YOU WILL HATE YOUR LIFE, SPEND DOZENS OF HOURS ON THE PHONE, AND THE SOLUTION MAY BE MONTHS DOWN THE ROAD.....IF THERE IS ONE. WOW. JUST WOW.

Nearly perfect car - EV or ICE.

08/07/2023

Like may others, I searched for an EV that was not a Tesla and addresses range anxiety, charging time, warranty period, and features - in that order. It came down to the ID.4, Ioniq 5, and EV6. Software update problems eliminated the ID.4. Styling made me select the EV6. After 9 months driving one nearly every day, I LOVE my EV6. I've driven 190 miles one-way over some hills as well as flat highways on one charge (90% to 18%) with the A/C on and slightly over the speed limit. That same charge level would get me nearly 250 miles around town. But climbing hills and moving a ton of car at highway speeds chews up energy - even on a Tesla. ONLY ONE BUG: the intermittent USB CONNECTION DROPS that plagues many Hyundai and KIA models. Still not officially resolved. And the most recent software update has made it even worse!

SLEEPER EV

03/07/2022

I have been a big KIA fan and my last vehicle was/is a 2018 Stinger GT which I love. I purchased the EV6 AWD Wind model for my wife and the both of us love it. The styling is pretty cool, but definitely would not consider this anything close to an SUV. It has a hatch with low (bumper level) entry which is great for sliding in large items. PROS: 1. Solidly built and when you close the door it sounds solid. 2. Ton of safety features 3. Competitive mileage even with AWD. 4. Very good sound system, but Stinger far superior in sound IMO. 5. FAST!!! 6. ECO mode turns off one motor and becomes 2WD 7. Quiet and great ride. (First time my wife ever commented how much she enjoys driving a car.) CONS: 1. OMG the exterior door handles SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We both commented how much we hate them! 2. Entertainment/Environment controls. Whomever designed and approved should be fired. What in the world were they thinking???? Constantly turning on the A/C or increasing the fan speed instead of changing the radio station or sound level or vice versa. They want us to keep our eyes on the road but the way these knuckleheads designed the system you have to toggle between environment and entertainment before controlling either one with the same buttons. Extremely annoying. 3. Spare accessories kept in the back (spare tire kit, lugs, etc) constantly flying around. Why didn't they design a secure location for these items? Seriously this is a strong vehicle for the EV market and not sure why it's not receiving more attention. The CON's I mentioned obviously not deal breakers, but seriously they could have done better.
