Good strong reliable truck.

Very strong truck, it's the work truck package and rides a pretty rough which is understandable considering its a 3500. It is the best 4 wheel drive pickup I've ever owned. I use it for working in the Oil/Gas Fields of northwestern New Mexico and have yet to have any problems with it. I've had Fords in the past and while the engines in them are ok, the transmissions don't hold up for oilfield use, while I've never had an issue with the GM transmissions.

So far so good!

04/22/2017

Ive owned a few other trucks prior to this 2016 Denali Dually Duramax. Dodge was horrible for quality and service. I traded in my 2008 Silverado Crew 6.0 gas for this Duramax and had not one issue with that Silverado. The only thing thus far is the stereo can be a little glitchy and sometimes the steering wheel buttons dont work, but after talking with the dealer they did say theyve had some issues with it and theyll reprogram it when I go in for my first service. Not worried about it at all, GM has been great in the past about fixing issues unlike Dodge and sometimes Ford. The other issue to keep this truck from getting a 10 rating across the board is the vibration from the pedal. Seems like this should be an easy fix for GM engineers. Id also like the option of having 4.10 gears. In hilly regions it helps to not have to push the pedal and let off as you drive so much with these 3.73 gears. Since this truck has the Gooseneck / 5th wheel hitch factory installed, Id like to have the camera to see the hitch since we hook the gooseneck up several times per week and it gets to be a real pain getting in and out trying to line up the ball you cant see. Lastly, I really wished theyd give us some real AT or off road type tires. These ATs they give as an option are really more like radials for on road. Im a farmer and will be using this truck in the fields and these are not a good off road tire. Id opt for a Reaper except towing my tractors and hay from one field to the farm would be too much for a 1/2 ton truck, so I opted for this 3500 but now need to spend additional money on better tires. Overall Id recommend this truck to others without a doubt.
