I love my Scion IM!

01/25/2019

I love my Scion IM! It's stylish and comfortable. The best part is the hatchback! It's like having a small truck bed. I load up plants, small furniture, and the like. It is my daily driver and I really hope it runs forever, I can't see parting with it! I understand this car isn't even made anymore

My favorite car so far.

01/16/2021

My previous car was a 2013 Prius V (Wagon) which is about the size of a RAV4. I was looking to downsize and get out of my high mileage Prius. I've always been a fan of Toyota and a fan of their Scion brand. Til this date, my favorite car was the 2008 Scion XB. I'm a bit of a car nut and like looking on cars on cargurus and I stumbled upon the 2016 Scion IM in black last year (2019) I remember seeing this car a few years ago when my XB was in the service bay and thought the IM was too small. However; driving a huge wagon that is the Prius V for a couple years and driving mostly for work commutes, I thought the downsize was justifiable. I made an appointment at the dealer and took the IM out for a test drive and immediately I wanted to trade my Prius in for it. The car is no Mustang, but it has alot of peep for a little hot hatckback. With in a few hours of signing my paperwork at the dealer, I drove off the lot with the car and I couldn't be happier with this car. I've always been a fan of hatches and econobox cars and this car suits my needs. The Prius V averages around 40-42 MPG, with a year of driving this IM I've been averaging mid 30s-low 40s. So I think the car is worth it, still cheap to fill the tank and is very fun to drive. The Prius V seats killed my back on road trips, so that was another factor of getting rid of the Prius. I've driven the IM on several road trips that taken hours and not once have I felt discomfort during those drives. The seats support my 6ft frame very well and I don't feel any pain after long drives. I often look for excuses to take the scenic route to work and other places because I enjoy driving this car. For a hatchback, the cargo area is very pleasantly usable and large. My ex girlfriend and I spent many nights camping in the back with a twin size air mattress blown up, with the rear seats folded, it fit the mattress very snug and fit both her and I fairly well. I've managed to fit all my belongings from a 1 bedroom apartment in this car on a move I made last year. Been on a few road trips with tall people, all 6 ft tall and taller and they were able to fit in the car just fine during long road trips. Don't listen to the pro reviewers on this car as they often expect this to be a rally car or be a true sports car, which it is not. It's a affordable stylish Scion (Corolla hatchback) that's versatile, reliable and fun to drive car. I've owned this car for a year now and I still love this car as much as the day I test drove it. Other than upgrading the tires and oil changes, I've had no issues and I've put on nearly 20,000 miles since I got the car. (41,000-62,000) Also; rear view out the back window is great, and I never have issues with the rear headrests blocking my view as other pro reviewers have complained about. The head rests can be popped up and fold down, which is a great feature that alot of cars don't have.

Great mileage; handles well; quieter than Fit was

11/09/2017

Has been a great car for trips, city driving, and parking. I like the mirrors folding in. I miss a CD player and the back seats folding up (like my Honda Fit did). Its plenty comfortable. Ive had no maintenance issues. I feel safe.
