Volkswagen based its CC (or "comfort coupe") on the Passat platform. The CC is a sedan, not a coupe, however, and features a sloping rear roofline. The car offers a turbocharged four-cylinder or a V6 engine, a manual or automatic transmission, and front-wheel or all-wheel drive. The vehicle debuted in 2009. In 2013, it got fresh styling, and Volkswagen modified the back seat to accommodate three people instead of two. The 2016 Volkswagen CC added new infotainment and safety tech; more safety features arrived in 2017. The car was discontinued that same year, however.
