Car Overview
Scion xD
Seeking a way to attract younger, less affluent buyers, Toyota launched the Scion brand in 2004. The idea was to offer uniquely small vehicles appealing to youthful customers. The Scion xD was one of those models. A small, five-door hatchback that sits high for simple entry and exit, and a good view out, the xD came with a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine supplying 128 horsepower delivered to the car’s front wheels through a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. The xD offers a 10.5 cubic-foot trunk, but fold down the back seats, and cargo volume expands to 35.7 cu-ft. Scion introduced the xD for the 2008 model year and ended production in 2014.
