Car Overview
Lexus GS
The first Lexus GS arrived in the U.S. market in 1993, and the midsize luxury sport sedan remained a part of the automaker's lineup through the 2020 model year. At various points, the rear-wheel-drive GS came with a turbocharged four-cylinder, inline six-cylinder, V6, V8, and hybrid powertrains, and an available all-wheel-drive system supplied extra traction during inclement weather. The short-lived Lexus GS F was legitimately track-ready right off the assembly line.

So, why did Lexus drop the GS? You can blame SUVs and, potentially, the automotive industry's shift to electrification. Unfortunately, when people quit buying cars, the Lexus GS languished.
