The Land Rover LR2 is a compact luxury SUV that replaced the company’s Freelander model in 2008 and remained on sale through 2015. The LR2 received incremental changes during its eight-year run. The most significant updates came later in the SUV’s life, with fresh styling and a more efficient engine in 2013 and enhanced technology in 2014. The new turbocharged four-cylinder in the 2013 LR2 was more powerful, and efficient, than the older inline-six. Every LR2 came with an all-wheel-drive system and supplied more off-roading capability than many rivals. However, cargo space was tight, and the interior looked and felt inexpensive despite its leather seats and wood trim. The Land Rover Discovery Sport replaced the LR2 at the end of the latter’s production run.
