In 1963, Jeep introduced the first Wagoneer SUV. It became the Grand Wagoneer in 1984 and lasted until 1991. For the 2022 model year, Jeep resurrected both the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer nameplates, applying them to new full-size, three-row SUVs with significant towing and payload capacity. The Wagoneer is the more affordable model, competing most directly with the GMC Yukon. However, the Jeep Wagoneer also counts the upper trim levels of the Chevrolet Tahoe, Ford Expedition, Nissan Armada, and Toyota Sequoia as rivals.
