The Hyundai Nexo is a compact crossover SUV equipped with a hydrogen-powered fuel-cell drivetrain and front-wheel drive. It is sold only in California, where a small and growing network of hydrogen refueling stations exists. The Nexo is available in Blue and Limited trim, provides up to 380 miles of driving range, and emits nothing but water vapor from its exhaust outlet. That is the only byproduct of the process that converts the hydrogen fuel into the electricity that powers the wheels. With five-passenger seating and a 29.6 cubic-foot trunk, the Nexo is practical, and cargo space expands to 56.5 cu. ft. when you fold the back seat down.
