The Hyundai Equus was a full-size luxury car sold in the U.S. from 2011 through 2016. Serving as Hyundai's flagship sedan, the Equus was a big deal. The rear-wheel-drive car was long, heavy, and powerful, thanks to a robust V8 engine. Featuring flashy chrome trim and wheels, plush leather upholstery, and all of the technology in the automaker's arsenal, Hyundai designed the Equus to provide stylish executive transport with superior rear passenger comfort. A large back seat was standard, and with the Ultimate package the car had individual rear seats with power recline, heating, ventilation, and massage. Though the Equus aimed high, it wore a relatively low price tag. Still, a Hyundai priced at more than $60,000 proved a tough sell, so the Equus departed the U.S. after the 2016 model year.
