What Is Fiat Certified Pre-Owned?
Additional warranty coverage and a thorough inspection are crucial for used Fiats.
Fiat
Each car company’s CPO arrangement differs in terms of the details and protections provided. Here’s a look at how the Fiat Certified Pre-Owned program works.
Which Fiat Vehicles Are Eligible for the Certified Pre-Owned Program?
Fiat makes its CPO program available to all Fiats built over the last five model years. In 2023, this means it covers vehicles built since 2018. Within that subset, there’s also a cutoff of 75,000 miles.Covered models include the Fiat 500 and Fiat 500L hatchbacks, the Fiat 124 Spider, the Fiat 500e, and the Fiat 500X crossover. The program also covers the high-performance Abarth versions of the Fiat 500 and the Fiat 124 Spider.
Warranty Coverage for Fiat’s Certified Pre-Owned Program
All vehicles in the Fiat CPO program are given a thorough inspection that ensures all systems are in good working order, ranging from the paint and trim to the driveline and the interior. Any components that need to be replaced or refurbished are taken care of at this step, and a full Carfax report is provided to reflect the automobile’s history. Roadside assistance and rental car coverage are also included in the program. That inspection process allows Fiat to extend a comprehensive limited warranty up to six years past the vehicle’s original sale date or up to 80,000 miles. This is longer than the limited vehicle warranty offered for new Fiats, which expires after four years or 50,000 miles. The CPO warranty is also transferable, should you decide to sell your car.
Keep in mind that if you purchase a five-year-old Fiat that qualifies for CPO coverage, you will only benefit from one year of warranty. Similarly, if the vehicle you are purchasing is, say 5,000 miles fromFiat’s CPO mileage restriction of 75,000 miles, then there are only 5,000 miles of warranty available to you.
Fiat CPO Versus Stellantis CPO Coverage
Fiat is part of the Stellantis family of brands along with Chrysler, Jeep, Ram, and Dodge. Stellantis offers its own CPO program that provides a similar inspection process, along with roadside assistance and a car rental allowance for the first three months. The Stellantis warranty is limited to the powertrain, but it does extend for seven years past the vehicle’s sale date or 100,000 miles of driving.
